Today, I did something kinda funny, so I thought I’d share it! I participated in a contest to win a new website. I didn’t win, but had a lot of fun trying! The contest was for me to photograph my dog with a birthday hat ON. Here’s what I got…

Oh well! I had a great time playing with Zeke! He’s such a great part of our family! He’s always a winner to me!

The days of summer

So, in case you’re wondering which side of the planet I fell off of…I didn’t! I rarely work in the summer, actually I rarely work anytime my kiddos are out of school. It’s just one of those things that are important to me. I’m very lucky to have the freedom to make that choice. It’s been four weeks now, and the score is 2-4. As for professional projects, I’ve had two…The Vidana Wedding Album and The Exeter Eels Swim Team pictures, always a highlight of the summer! And, personal projects is four and counting. Yes, we’ve had a productive summer so far!

To catch up, Gil & Molly tied the knot on May 1st and I have yet to blog it, so here we go!

I first met Molly last Fall when she popped by the studio to inquire about Wedding Photography. She was so sweet talking about Gil and their relationship and upcoming wedding plans. We waited quite awhile to shoot the engagement session, where I finally met Gil. They were so cute together, I knew their day would be an emotional one, and it did not disappoint.

The Vidana Wedding Album should hit my doorstep any day now, and although they do not have it in their hands yet, I’ll share it with you!

Last week I shot the adorable Caitlin & Michael! I just loved being in their presence. They are just so cute together…a little feisty, a little love-y, a lot silly! I’m SO excited about their October wedding! It’s sure to be more of the same!

Zandra

Monday Zandra & I went out to shoot her much anticipated Senior Session. And, yep, this girl is graduating THIS year! We waited ’till the last minute for a very important reason. You see, after many years of orthodontic care Zandra was finally was free! The braces were removed, and taking her Senior Pictures was at the top of her to-do list. The closer the time got to her appointment, the closer a storm cloud rolled into the area. We managed to outsmart it, while getting some great shots!

Here are just a few of my favorites…

Zandra, thanks for sharing your Senior experience with me! I wish you lots great memories over your next year in Denmark, and many years after!

The Meeker Family

I can honestly say that I LOVE people! That is one of my favorite things about being a photographer. I get to spend a great deal of my time figuring out how to bring out the best in people. My number one priority is to make them feel at home, enough to be themselves…truly.

I have met some really great families throughout my life, and The Meeker’s are just one of them. I first met Herb & Karen when I stopped by their log-accented professional building, to inquire upon office rental space. It worked out well because I’ve considered it my second home for almost two years now. The Meeker’s are a very close, grounded family consisting of four boys, all but one married. Recently, there has been a few changes in the family. One branch is relocating, and one has a new ‘bud’. Monday we set out to capture their family dynamics on a piece of family property. Having not seen it, I wasn’t quite sure how the early-evening sun would cooperate. I couldn’t have been more happy when I arrived and noticed the sun flooding down through the giant oak & sycamore trees.

The adorable Nicole & Matt tied the knot on Saturday and I was lucky enough to document their day! This sweet couple is so in-to each other that it’s hard not to fall in love with them. It was definitely one of those “pinch myself” weddings – a great couple, a beautiful connection and awesome friends & family. In fact, the Wedding Party was the most fun EVER!

I am so excited to share, so let’s get down to it!

Oh my gosh! How lucky am I??? Daniel & Mom-Debbie came to me, searching for a photographer to capture his Senior Session. We shot it yesterday, and had the best time! Daniel happily brought along his long-boards to show a little peek at who he really is! I love it when my clients bring props! It helps warm-up to being photographed when you’ve got toys to play with. Anyway, Daniel is great guy, fun to be around and has fantastic goals! What more could you ask for? Oh, and he happens to be SO adorable!

Steve + Kim = Engaged

Oh, we had so much fun! Steve & Kim, along with their two children, joined me for their much anticipated engagement session on Saturday. I knew exactly where & when I wanted to take them. Note to self: when inviting animals into a session, know that they are crazier than children! While playing fetch with Chocolate Lab ‘Duke’, I managed to learn more & more about the future Springer Family all the while catching some great moments between them. It was quite the dance!

Kim & Steve are planning their wedding in Los Cabos for this Fall. I’m sure it’s going to be a blast! SO bummed I can’t go! And, believe me, I tried!
