The Woods Family

Yay! One of my very favorite places to shoot is at the Oak Tree Preserve! The Woods Family had expectations of having a Family Session prior to Christmas, but it never quite worked out due to Mother Nature – not always my favorite person! Well, on this day, we got lucky! We managed to pick an afternoon right in the middle of what seemed like two weeks of storms! The bright green spring grasses were already in full swing, along with the always-beautiful oak trees. You just can’t go wrong out there! Thanks, Woods Family! It was great getting to know you better, while capturing some pretty cute moments!

The Gerlach Family

This was a day I had waited a long time for! Like most people, there are a handful of friends that, for whatever reason, make your life sweeter. The Geralch’s (and their immediate families) are part of that handful. There is just something about them that touches me. I wish I could see them, and photograph them, more often. I’ll have to work on that! Thank you, Gerlach’s for spending your afternoon with me! It is always a pleasure catching up, and frolicking with the Little Man. I look forward to seeing you again!

The Morgan Family

I know I say this a lot, but I just have to say it AGAIN! This session was so great! The Morgan Family was over the top! Nothing is better than working with a client who doesn’t take themselves too seriously. They’re able to let go, relax & be natural. I know that seems like a lot to ask, but it’s really not! We all get caught up in the high-pressure, high-expectation of having the Family Session shot. I get it! That’s one of the reasons why I haven’t had my family shot in four years! Parents are busy & tired, just wanting to veg on the weekends or trying to keep up the kid’s schedules. The kids either are WAY too busy to plan on, or just too bored with the idea of taking pictures. Whatever the reason, time goes by.

Back to the Morgan’s, I had the greatest time playing with them! I loved capturing their love, and friendship, as a family…

The Boniske Family

This shoot was SO much fun! Before this day, I hadn’t had the opportunity to meet The Boniske Family in person. We had only chatted on the phone several times trying to coordinate a session during their family visits. We had a few obstacles – sicky, runny noses & holidays – not to mention their six-hour drive! You see, the Boniske’s live in San Diego. Maybe one day I’ll be able to shoot them in their town! Yay! Thank you, Sara for tracking me down! Thank you, Meagan for recommending me!

I had the pleasure of shooting this fun family on one of our sunny Winter weekends – gotta love California! I had a great time playing with the ones I knew, and meeting the ones I didn’t! You know how kids react to the mention of being photographed…well, no difference on this day. It took them a little while to warm up, them even longer to settle down! Too much fun! Hey everyone, and Happy Holidays to you! We want to thank those of you who played a role in making our 2009 as fantastic as it was. I couldn’t possibly be more grateful to all of you who began the process as a Client and ended as a Friend. Also, not to go unmentioned, are those who have been in our lives even longer, thank you, too. I firmly believe that with each encounter and experience something is learned – maybe good, maybe bad. I knew three things about Marisa after meeting her – She’s shy, ‘taken’ and a twin. What surprised me the most about Marisa was as soon as we began shooting, I picked up on how graceful & photogenic she is.
