Monday Zandra & I went out to shoot her much anticipated Senior Session. And, yep, this girl is graduating THIS year! We waited ’till the last minute for a very important reason. You see, after many years of orthodontic care Zandra was finally was free! The braces were removed, and taking her Senior Pictures was at the top of her to-do list. The closer the time got to her appointment, the closer a storm cloud rolled into the area. We managed to outsmart it, while getting some great shots!

Here are just a few of my favorites…

Zandra, thanks for sharing your Senior experience with me! I wish you lots great memories over your next year in Denmark, and many years after!

Oh my gosh! How lucky am I??? Daniel & Mom-Debbie came to me, searching for a photographer to capture his Senior Session. We shot it yesterday, and had the best time! Daniel happily brought along his long-boards to show a little peek at who he really is! I love it when my clients bring props! It helps warm-up to being photographed when you’ve got toys to play with. Anyway, Daniel is great guy, fun to be around and has fantastic goals! What more could you ask for? Oh, and he happens to be SO adorable!

I had SO much fun today! I spent the afternoon hiking around in pink rubber boots, while being serenaded! Combine that with an amazing location and a fun new friend – and Whoa-Lah! Success! Well, that’s what we hope for anyway!

Today, Chris and I set out to capture his Senior Session. He’s graduating from Exeter Union High School, and he feels like the King of the World! You see, he’s been blessed with the amazing gift of musical talent and the Woman of his Dreams! What more does he need!?! Chris is pursuing a musical career, and plans to use some of the images for the new album he’s created. I was lucky enough to preview one of the songs he’s composed for someone special in his life, and I have to say it’s magical!

Danika

It all started about five years ago. WOW, it’s been five years! We didn’t know it yet, but our new neighborhood would change our lives. Unsure of how we stood, we gradually hypnotized our next-door neighbors to fall deeply in love with us. And, today, I stand confident in our success. We gladly shout sarcasm and love over the fences & through the windows. I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are a part of us, as we are them.

Danika is the oldest of two. She’s the Big Sis in not only her family, but ours as well. There’s something magical between her and our Peanut. It’s adorable! I’ve been going on & on & on & on about photographing her, for years now. In fact, I think it was every time she came home from college (which is frequently, but not often enough!) I was honored to shoot Little Sis Kara as she graduated from Central Valley Christian two years ago, but missed Danika.

That’s all changed now! Danika was home for her last Spring Break as a College Student. I suggested that we shoot some to document this time in her life. She was hesitant at first, but eventually worked up the bravery. She clearly didn’t know what she was getting into (or maybe she did!) She’s an amazing woman, who’s not afraid to listen to her head or follow her heart.

So, if this face looks familiar, you’re absolutely right! I shot the first leg of Lacie’s Senior Sesh’ in November, at Shaver Lake. I guess she loved the whole process SO much, she just had to do it again! The difference this time was Lacie’s boyfriend, Adam, joined us! They were so cute together, I just had to post a few teasers…

Marisa

I knew three things about Marisa after meeting her – She’s shy, ‘taken’ and a twin. What surprised me the most about Marisa was as soon as we began shooting, I picked up on how graceful & photogenic she is. It was fun experimenting with new locations, during a time of year that I don’t typically shoot a lot of Seniors. Change is good!! Here are a few of my favorites…

This was so fun! I had been asked to shoot The Morgan Family Christmas Session, and Mom thought I could piggy-back her son’s Senior Session on the end of it. I’m so glad we did! Honestly, it had been a long time since I had been in an teenager’s vintage truck. All of my high school memories came rushing back, as if it were yesterday – instead of 20 years ago! I’m a little behind in my blogging, due to a fabulous Holiday Season! So, let’s start at the top…

A few weeks ago Caitlin & I went out to shoot her Senior Session. We had originally planned on the outskirts of Exeter, but changed to all of the areas that Visalia has to offer. After all, she is a native of Visalia and is graduating from Mt. Whitney High School – so it only made sense to change the location. We started out at a little park on the North-West side of town, and finished up at her high school’s soccer field. Here are just a few of my favorites…

This girl might look familiar – she’s a fantastic volleyball player for El Diamonte, who’s had some exciting media coverage lately! Raegan and I met about a year & a half ago. That was the beginning of another ‘grafted’ branch of our family tree. You see, “A family who ‘rocks’ together, stays together!”. Our families, along with two others, are joined by a band – Borrowed Time. A few months ago, we discussed what Raegan might want to capture in her Senior Session, and she was only sure of two things – 1) She didn’t want to be AS tan! & 2) She wanted to cut her hair immediately following her session, and donate it to the Locks of Love program. Very cool!

Sunday, we shot her session at her home on the outskirts of Visalia. It also involved her two adorable sisters!

Thanks, girls! Too much fun!

We all have family – family that we are born into, and the family that we choose. Sometimes they co-mingle, sometimes they do not. In this case I think everyone involved has felt like one big family for what now is three generations. I married into the big web. Enter Lacie: first born to the Jones family. She is in the midst of her senior year at Central Valley Christian – that I still can’t believe! Several months ago we discussed what Lacie might want for her Senior Session. She couldn’t have been more sure - Shaver Lake. Lacie’s family has spent a lot of time in Shaver, since purchasing a second-home there 6 years ago. It was a very special place to Lacie, one she hoped to capture in print. Here are just a few of my favorites…

Lacie and Elexis are best friends, and she wanted to partially share the experience with her. Capturing them together was a hoot!

They were so much fun!

Lacie and all of the Jones Family, thank you for sharing your home (and table!) with us! We are blessed to have such great friends! And Lex, it was a pleasure meeting you, as well!
