Today, I did something kinda funny, so I thought I’d share it! I participated in a contest to win a new website. I didn’t win, but had a lot of fun trying! The contest was for me to photograph my dog with a birthday hat ON. Here’s what I got…

Oh well! I had a great time playing with Zeke! He’s such a great part of our family! He’s always a winner to me!

Well, it’s that time of year, again! The foothills are starting to get their blanket of gold. If you are interested in having a session shot in and around this beautiful setting, now is the time to book it. The flowers are here for such a short time! Usually, by the time you think about scheduling it, they’re dieing off. So, commit! Let’s do it! Weekday appointments from 10am-12pm are available, along with a few weekends.

Today, Visalia hosted the beginning of The Amgen Tour of California’s 5th stage. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world! As I walked closer & closer to the starting point, the excitement grew. I had no idea how lucky I was about to become. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a ‘media’ tent. Something told me to go for it, so I did! I walk up, asked how I could become ‘credentialed’, handed over a business card – and BAM – credentialed was I! What, really?!?!? How easy was that! Well, I guess after paying my dues, by working hard at business, it payed off again. Thank you, thank you! I had such a fun time this morning! Here are some of my favorites…

What happens in Vegas…

…Does NOT stay in Vegas! Thankfully! For those of you who don’t already know, I’ve been in Vegas for an annual photography conference, the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International. Also, known as WPPI. Although, this was not my first time attending, it felt as if it were. You see, this year I ventured alone. At first, I was dreading the idea of roaming aimlessly, a-l-o-n-e, for four days. But, I have to say, I had an amazing time! I met so may new friends! Learned so many cool things! I have never been more inspired! I want to personally thank a few people who made my trip a lot more fun: (1)Kira Kwon, of Pioria (2)Adam Trujillo, of Las Vegas and (3)Kat Willcox, of Redondo Beach. Thank you, thank you! I had a great time meeting you, BS-ing with you, and becoming your friend. I look forward to doing it all over again. See you next year!

the annual christmas card

Like most Moms, I am in a crunch to produce some sort of ‘Christmas Card Picture’. Although I am lucky to grab a few perfect moments, the session always seems to go in a wacky direction. Ultimately, those are always my favorites. I just love it when my kids be themselves! Here they are doing just that…

Well, it’s that time again, already! My baby girl is turning eight in just a short time from now. She loves to go out and play with Momma. We had a great time today playing. It’s so hard to believe that it’s been eight years! I know it’s said a lot, but it’s true – It just seems like yesterday. She changed my life more than I’ll ever know. What I do know is that if it wasn’t for her, I would never have made this career change. She is, and always will be, my inspiration.

Unconditional Love

Each day, several times a day, I pass through my doorway with nearly the same reaction.  Whether I stepped out to get the mail, or I’m gone overnight, there is little difference.  I am, like many homes around the nation, greeted with unconditional love.  They might just be my greatest cheerleaders.  Well, second to my husband!  So, I thought I would spread a little love and let you see a different peek of my family…





Family Heirloom

My dad popped by today, after weeks of teasing.  He’s been telling me that “he’s got something to show me”.  I knew all along what it was.  It was kind of like seeing the Loch Ness Monster!  Often talked about, but rarely seen.
If you know anything about me, you’ll know that I am extremely sentimental.  In the later years of my Grandmother’s life, I grew exceptionally close to her.  And even today, 7 years after her death, I grasp to all that was her.  So, today, when my Dad dropped by, driving his Great Aunt’s 1958 Cadillac, formerly driven by my Grandmother, I just melted.  I could totally see Grandma driving it down Main Street, to Bothof’s to pick up a baked treat.
Thank you, Dad, for thinking of me!  I’m so glad you brought her by.  It means the world to me. XOX
