Every once in a while I find myself being asked to do a lot of ‘firsts’. This was one of those times. Mom-Rachel contacted me to shoot head-shots for her very talented son David, for his upcoming Disney Channel audition. After meeting with everyone, we quickly threw a session together. We bounced all around town, getting in as many looks as possible in a short amount of time.

Kara and Beau

I don’t think that you have to have a ring on your finger to shoot a session with someone important to you. Well, thats what we did today. Kara, a very special friend of mine, wanted to take a moment to capture her connection with Beau. We chatted, then walked around Exeter – laughing, playing and shooting at our leisure. I got to hear their ‘story’, because we all have one. Kara and Beau met in college, while participating in Leadership. The rest is history. They’re happy, they’re a couple, and they’re not engaged. And, since we are friends, we took this rare opportunity to capture a few moments of them, being them. I had a great time getting to know them as a couple, and as the adults they are becoming. Here are a few of my favorites!

Kara, I love you, and your entire family. Over the last 6 years the combining of our families was fast & furious. We will forever be changed by the impression you have made on our lives.

I had too much fun this morning with Freddy! I’m delighted that he missed the scheduled day for EUHS’s team pictures, because it gave me the chance to play! If you think you’d rather do something like this with your ‘gear’ on, instead to the boring stuff, I’m in. Just give me call, and we’ll get it done!

Oh my gosh! I absolutely LOVE the day after a storm! The puffiest, pretty clouds are almost always out to play! Here’s a few images I captured on Thursday! This should make Doug @ The Orange Blossom Junction Restaurant happy! He thinks I need to ‘get out’ and shoot some landscapes! Combine that with my love to trespass, and this is what you get…

The Bradford Family

I had the pleasure of shooting this fun family on one of our sunny Winter weekends – gotta love California! I had a great time playing with the ones I knew, and meeting the ones I didn’t! You know how kids react to the mention of being photographed…well, no difference on this day. It took them a little while to warm up, them even longer to settle down! Too much fun! I guess it doesn’t help the situation if I’m playing with them! Here are few of my favorites…

Monday, I had the honor of shooting what I hope to have captured for myself one day. This couple is the only couple I know that is ‘mushier’ than we are. Which only makes since because they have 30 years on us. I know this because they are my inlaws, Marvin & Kitty Welch. It just doesn’t seem fair that everyone isn’t this happy after 5, 10, or even 15 years of marriage – let alone 43! Seriously, the two of them are like newlyweds! Marinating in marriage, a good marriage, must cure you like a fine wine.

I was nervous, hopeful and excited for this day. For it was Kitty that gave me the big push to follow my dreams to become a photographer – so the pressure was on. Now that it’s over, I am delighted by what we captured! Here are just a few of my favorites…

For anyone wondering, this is the key to longevity…

Marvin & Kitty, thank you for all that you are. You have supported us unconditionally, and you mean the world to us. We wouldn’t be the same without you, and your grandchildren couldn’t be luckier!

The Brackett’s

This is a little late, but you know what they say, “Better late, than never!” Actually, that was the hidden theme to Sunday’s session with The Brackett Family. You see, our kiddos attend the same school, the great Sequoia Union in Lemon Cove. Mom (Lucilina) and I bonded instantly at first meeting, and have been friends ever since. Over the last year and a half we’ve been talking about capturing her family, and we finally did. Better late, than never. We had so much fun frolicking in the wildflowers. Happy 1st Birthday

Oh my goodness! Today was so much fun! It really took me back to my kiddos 1st birthdays. Bittersweet, I tell you.

This little munchkin was such a hoot! She was just so inquisitive of all her new surroundings – the wildflowers, the curious cows, the passer-bys, etc. It’s as if the planets were aligned! Everything went perfect – the sky, the sun, the flowers, the locations, and most of all – the subject. Thanks, Vorst Family! I hope you love them! It was difficult to choose, but here are a few of my favorites!

Well, it’s that time of year, again! The foothills are starting to get their blanket of gold. If you are interested in having a session shot in and around this beautiful setting, now is the time to book it. The flowers are here for such a short time! Usually, by the time you think about scheduling it, they’re dieing off. So, commit! Let’s do it! Weekday appointments from 10am-12pm are available, along with a few weekends.
