Monday, turned out to be a great day! It ended up being one of my latest days at work, but it was worth it! We scheduled Melany & Bryn’s Engagement Session for my favorite time of the day, four o’clock. The light was gorgeous and the slight heat had fallen away. Conditions could not have been better! Here are a few of my favorites…

Last week I shot the adorable Caitlin & Michael! I just loved being in their presence. They are just so cute together…a little feisty, a little love-y, a lot silly! I’m SO excited about their October wedding! It’s sure to be more of the same!

Steve + Kim = Engaged

Oh, we had so much fun! Steve & Kim, along with their two children, joined me for their much anticipated engagement session on Saturday. I knew exactly where & when I wanted to take them. Note to self: when inviting animals into a session, know that they are crazier than children! While playing fetch with Chocolate Lab ‘Duke’, I managed to learn more & more about the future Springer Family all the while catching some great moments between them. It was quite the dance!

Kim & Steve are planning their wedding in Los Cabos for this Fall. I’m sure it’s going to be a blast! SO bummed I can’t go! And, believe me, I tried!

Molly + Gil = Engaged

It’s getting close, but it’s not too late! Molly & Gil are just about to walk down the aisle – one month from today! We made time this week for their long-awaited engagement session. I had such a great time frolicking around the foothills, learning more & more about the two that would eventually become one. I’m SO excited about their intimate, home-grown nuptials & spirits!

Terry + DeAne = Engaged

Today, we squeezed in just enough time to take a few quick engagement images. And, it’s just in time too! These two are getting married THIS weekend!

Terry & DeAne met a little over a year ago while waiting for the light-rail train to take them to work, at the State Capitol. They eventually spoke, and connected instantly. It didn’t take long for them to figure out that marriage was in their future. After many months of waiting, Terry surprised DeAne with a proposal of marriage during a ‘girls trip’ to Tahoe. Now, only three months later, everything will come to fruition on Saturday, at DeAne’s childhood home. I can’t wait to witness a very dear friend of mine, marrying the man of her dreams!

Steven & Megan met several years back in a little place called…Hawaii. Yep, both of them were born & raised in Visalia, but it took a high school graduation celebratory trip to Hawaii to meet. Isn’t that just ridiculous! Sweet, but ridiculous! So, it was only natural to shoot their Engagement Session on a beach. It wasn’t Hawaii’s beach, but instead California’s Cayucos were Steven proposed to Megan just a few months ago. The three of us romped around Cayucos, some in my comfort-zone (the surrounding foothills) and some on the beach! Here are just a few of my favorites…

On a final note, a heartfelt “Thank You” goes out to Megan’s Family for very graciously giving us their amazing beach-front home for the extended weekend! It was, by far, the best vacation our family has ever had.

A few months ago Nicole, her Mother & I met to discuss Wedding Photography. Upon first meeting I thought to myself I could possibly be meeting the sweetest, most soft-spoken person ever! I get the feeling that everything about her is gentle and thoughtful. I was instantly intrigued by what her wedding would entail. And, when speaking of her fiance, Matt, Nicole had a sparkle in her eyes that made me want to hear more. I learned about their first meeting, that was instigated by a friend, which later lead to a second encounter at a time in her life when she couldn’t have needed Matt more. The rest is history…

Sunday, I finally had the pleasure of meeting Matt, only moments before their engagement session. There was just something in the way they looked at each other. The joy and contentment to be in the presence of each other. You don’t have to look too close to see just how happy they are. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in April 2010! Here are just a few of my favorites from Sunday…

Sam + Katie

This weekend was so much fun! Sam & Katie really wanted to shoot their engagement session in a few very special locations. We began at the Mission in San Luis Obispo, where there just happen to be a children’s festival happening. Wow, there was a lot going on! Although people were everywhere, we did manage to get some personal shots!

From there, we ventured up Highway 101 to Santa Margarita. We first stopped for a little wine tasting at the Ancient Peaks Winery, where they narrowed down their choices for the Wedding Day. After shooting a little there, we moved on to their wedding day venue – Santa Margarita Ranch. It’s a gorgeous, sprawling 353 acres of conservation wetlands that happen to be part of the Mission Trail. On the property stands Santa Margarita de Cortona. It was a sub-mission of Mission San Luis Obispo. It was established around 1787 as a means of serving a concentration of Chumash Indians in the area. Some of the original walls still stand. I immediately fell in love with the structure! It’s going to be the most amazing wedding venue!

To finish up the day, we went on to our final location, Cambria’s Moonstone Beach. What a beautiful beach! I hadn’t visited Moonstone Beach before, and was surprised by it’s rocky sand and intense wind. Out of the three locations, I believe it was the most personal for Sam & Katie. Throughout their relationship they’ve spent many vacations there. It was the perfect ending to a great day! Sam & Katie, thank you for such a fun day! It was great to finally get to spend some time with you! I can’t wait for your June wedding!

Today, I shot the engagement session of Katey Garrett & Jason Rallis. If those two names sound familiar to you, good! They are this year’s winner of the Operation: LoveStruck contest. If you haven’t yet read their winning love story, please do, it’s worth it.

I’ve really been looking forward to this session for quite some time. I just couldn’t wait to go out and play with this adorable couple. Katey & Jason, thanks fo much for today! I can’t wait for your fun wedding day! It’s going to be a blast! Until then, here are a few of my favorites…

Lauren + Ryan

My good friend Lauren Westbrook was asked for her hand in marriage by the adorable Ryan Sampson, on her 21st birthday. I was so excited for them, of course, but even more excited when they asked me to shoot their wedding! Before I even had a chance to freak out at the pressure, I immediately said yes! So, time went by, and the wedding is planned for next month. Yesterday, we went out and shot a few engagement images. As you can see, these two are meant for each other!
